Practical Skills Workshop for NPs
Join other Nurse Practitioner Program Faculty in a state-of-the-art simulation center for this hands-on workshop designed for APRNs andobtain continuing education contact hours required for the Emergency NP Certification. Practice skills needed to manage frequently encountered Primary Care, Urgent Care / ED Fast Track clinical conditions such as:
- Basic extremity radiology and splinting
- Fish hook removal, digital block, abscess I & D
- Finger and toenail removal, paronychia management and ring removal
- Subungual hematoma release and arthrocentesis
- Wound assessment and management
- Practice three different suturing techniques: simple interrupted, running and mattress stitches
- Fluorescein stain and Tonopen use
Acquiring these advanced practice competencies enhances your repertoire, increases your marketability.
