Working to Prevent Brain Injuries by Raising Awareness

Posted over 7 years ago by Lori Norris

As the thriver of a three-month coma, due to parental neglect of no helmet while riding a 3-wheeler in 1977 at the age of 12, I work feverishly to save other youth from the torture of unemployment, shame, low wages, etc., in life. If I can be of positive value, call or email?

My program "Challenged Conquistadors, Inc." was the Spirit of Arkansas in 1997 on Channel 7, an ABC network, & am a Voice for Injury Prevention (VIP) for the Arkansas Children's Hospital since its inception.

You may be interested to know, that I've published my first book, The Best Quest at Amazon.com which details the battle for independence in a non-accessible state & also, honesty, which is why I'm including so many attachments, because most people I speak with do not believe that I've achieved that which I have, including the letter from Tyson Foods.

I hope you will talk with your area head starts about the value of helmets, because many don't & haven't over the last decade? I had plans to serve my nation in both the US Air Force & Olympics at the age of 10, but my parents disrespected my dreams, how many other other parents will violate their future adults dreams? Our legacy will be the dreams of those who don't have a loud voice today, but must carry out nation to the greatest expectation, comprehendible! I'm on board & expecting you..when will I see you?

I work to reduce cognitive challenges or brain injuries from affecting the lives of our future adults. There has...

I would be very honored & proud, if I could serve as spokesperson for the need & requirement that all parents are accountable & responsible for their future adults' future health as long as they are raising them under their roof! They have future adults, therefore they are responsible for them up & until at least 18 years of age or until they leave the home, thus their brains are there responsibility! My parents failed me terribly, costing myself both the Olympics & US Air Force, thus I've been more of a liability over the last 4 decades than an asset to our nation. I would like the opportunity to change that, if possible? We've already reduced cognitive challenges by 20% over the last 20 years, hopefully over the next 20 years we can reduce it by 40%. That is my dream. I dream big!

I started the Challenged Conquistadors, Inc., in 1992 at the University of Arkansas in Monticello, Arkansas, however few others have appreciated my efforts to reduce cognitive challenges or demonstrate that they can be successfully dealt with in life or conquered. I hope you can see the benefits of the work I started along with humane terminology?

Proof that what I started in 1992 works...now it is being done by the Schwinn Helmets on Heads Program & Safe Routes to Schools since 2015, etc.

Cord-Charlotte Elementary School (Charlotte, Arkansas) will develop a school-wide bicycle program for students in grades four to six. They will establish a bike share that students can utilize after completing a 12-hour bike and helmet safety program. This will be offered to small groups of ten or less, and the four week rotation will continue until all students have completed the program.

I also worked with Wal Mart stores during the years 2010-2015 doing "Smart Brain" events at their stores to reinforce the value of helmets. They have a grant program which we utilized. We worked at stores in El Dorado, Camden, Magnolia, Crossett, Fordyce, etc., demonstrating the value of helmets to save children our future adults lives. Mrs. Tina Budnaitis of Wal Mart got us started with being paid for our prevention service. Her father, Charlie, at the Magnolia store used me many times over the five year period, thus he saw the benefits. We talked about developing books, pencils, back packs, etc., to remind our future adults of the importance of wearing helmets when riding bikes, ATV's, horses, etc., however it never developed.

Have A Best Day the Optimistic Way: Positivism!!
